| I think Natalie looks even more beautiful bald, and I hope she keeps it. She said she likes it. Now if only more women would take the plunge and discover the beauty of being bald.

Shaving their head for a role, "suffering for their art," has been almost a badge of honor for actresses over the years, usually when playing chemotherapy patients or concentration camp detainees. In fact, many of these women have looked quite lovely without hair, but of course the look is, with few exceptions, a bit too avant garde for people in everyday life at the present time. As for Natalie Portman, she's a beautiful young woman, and was quite attractive with her clipped hair, but tonight on the Golden Globes telecast this observer found her grown-out super short crop absolutely smashing In fact, I'd rate her hair tonight one of this year's red carpet's best so far. The thinking here is that short hair and Natalie are a perfect match. She has great facial proportions, and her features, while large, are quite delicate, so short hair really brings them out. Also, she's very petite and small-boned, so longer hair tends to overwhelm her. Not only that, but it seems sometimes (like in the pic above) that her hair might be a bit on the fine side anyway, so she probably shouldn't go too long. IMHO, she's much more beautiful with short hair--not necessarily shaved, lol, but she might eclipse Winona Ryder (whom she does resemble somewhat) as the "poster girl" for the pixie cut and it's modern variations.
